Superintendent's Tenure Ends

Dear Tower High School Parents,

Some of you may have heard the news today that The DeKalb County Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Green have reached a mutual separation agreement, effective immediately. I wanted to personally reach out and assure you that, in spite of today’s announcement, Towers High School will experience minimal disruption and will continue to provide the excellent educational foundation your child deserves.

As the Board continues its search for a permanent replacement, Ms. Ramona Tyson has been named as interim superintendent until the position is filled. I have full confidence that, due to her long history of service with the DeKalb County School District, Ms. Tyson is exactly the person we need to not only operate the day-to-day activities of our district, but to also guide us as the Board conducts a nationwide search for a potential successor.

Should you be interested in contributing to the search for a new superintendent, I’d like to encourage you to complete this online survey, which will assist the search firm in determining the needs and wants of our community and, most importantly, our students.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns about this announcement, and I’ll be happy to chat with you.  A copy of the letter and press release are attached.
